HISTORY OF EAR CANDLES — HOW THEY WORK AND BENEFITS

The magic of fire has fascinated people from the very beginning of time, and ear candles evoke a similar fascination, having been used by many cultures since ancient times. The peoples of the Siberian prairies, Asia and native North and South American Indians mention ear candles in their myths, with ancient rock paintings showing ear candles being used at initiation rituals and medicinal ceremonies.

The healing properties of the ear candle work in two ways. Firstly, the slight pressure (the chimney effect) inside the ear candle and the vibration of the rising air column serve to gently massage the eardrum and promote secretion in the frontal and par nasal sinuses. This immediately regulates ear pressure. Users often describe a soothing, light sensation in the ear/head area. Secondly, the warmth stimulates vascularization, invigorates the immune system and stimulates the flow of lymph. At the same time important acupuncture points and reflex zones are stimulated.

Many people that have tried ear candles have reported improved hearing and sinuses, as well as improvements in reduction of headaches and migraines. Numerous people report that after using them only once or twice, their sinuses greatly improve, with some people noticing immediate loss of sinusitis and earache!

There is even a theory that the use of ear candles aids the body in the generation of small crystals within the inner ear, that whilst occurring naturally if increased in number, also improve our overall sense of balance.

Although companies do not make specific claims as to what ear candles can cure, there is definitely an increasing number of people around the world using ear candles and benefitting from their use.
